Technology is a powerful tool for education, helping students to realize their full potential and expand their worldview. Every Saturday, the U.S. Embassy-sponsored Girls Can Code (GCC) students learn about technology as it applies to their lives, both inside and outside the classroom, providing them with skill sets which will help them throughout their educational and professional careers. Apart from the tech side of the training, leadership and life skills are also part of the curriculum, including public speaking with confidence, volunteerism, essay writing, how to prevent gender-based violence, and time management and study skills.
Honored to have been able to share a class with this incredible group of young, empowered women! They are an example of the path Ethiopian education needs to follow, as they will be the leaders of tomorrow!
