Do you know that 51 young Ethiopian men and women are part of the 2016 the Mandela Washington Fellowship and are currently in the U.S. for six weeks of leadership training at various institutions? The finalists were selected out of some 3000 applicants. During the selection process, gender balance and regional representation as well as disability were taken into account. Accordingly, team Ethiopia consists of 27 females and 24 males, 10% whom are also people with disabilities. Region-wise, 13 finalists are from the regions.
